Alpine Bank donates nearly $1 million through debit card program
Alpine Bank donated nearly $1 million to community projects and nonprofit groups during 2016 through a debit card program.
“We’re excited that thanks to customer support of our Loyalty Debit Card program, Alpine Bank was able to donate nearly $1 million back to our communities in 2016,” said Glen Jammaron, president of Alpine Bank. “I know that by continuing to work together, we’ll be able to top this significant milestone next year.”
Alpine Bank donated almost $990,000 in 2016 under the program it launched in 1997.Alpine Bank donates 10 cents to projects and groups for every transaction completed with what the bank brands as a Loyalty Debit Card.
Customers select from among six areas to earmark funds, including arts and culture, community efforts that meet human needs, education and school-related programs and environmental groups that preserve and restore ecosystems, as well as Colorado Mountain College and Latin-American community projects. Donations also are distributed according to the geographic location of customers.
For 2016, $75,500 was donated to arts and culture, $347,700 to the community, $298,150 for educational programs, $171,600 for environmental groups, $40,000 for Colorado Mountain College and $56,775 for Latin-American projects.
