Applicants sought for Grand Junction City Council vacancy

Letters of interest and resumes will be accepted through 5 p.m. June 28 from applicants interested in serving on a vacant seat on the Grand Junction City Council.

The seat representing District E on the council became vacant with the death of Harry Butler. The council will appoint a successor to serve until the next municipal election in April 2015.

To serve in the position, applicants must have lived in District E for at least the past year and be a registered Grand Junction voter.

District E is located south of Orchard Avenue between Seventh and 12th streets and includes Orchard Mesa. Council district boundaries may be viewed online at

Letters of interest and resumes should be submitted to the city clerk at 250 N. Fifth  St., Grand Junction, CO, 81501. The clerk’s office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. For more information, call 244-1509.
