Attendance down, proceeds up for Winefest

While attendance was down, proceeds from ticket sales were up for the 20th annual version of the Colorado Mountain Winefest in Palisade.

A total of 6,174 guests attended the festival in the park during the winefest, down from 6,500 last year. However, proceeds from ticket sales increased because of higher-priced tickets — which included the VIP first class pass and premier package — as well as more sales of seminar tickets.

The 21st annual Colorado Mountain Winefest is set for Sept. 13 to 16. The event serves as a fund-raiser for the Colorado Association of Viticulture and Enology, a nonprofit trade group.
