Auto dealer donations help to clear the air

Six Western Colorado automobile dealers contributed a total of 15 vehicles to the Clear the Air Foundation, an organization that crushes and recycles old or poorly maintained vehicles to help reduce air pollution.

Hellman Motors, Jim Fuoco Motors, John Roberts Motor Works, Morehart Murphy, Regional Auto Center and Turner Automotive all donated the vehicles to the foundation. The foundation sells aging vehicles to Colorado auto recyclers, who dismantle and shred them.

Proceeds help underwrite scholarships to students entering automotive fields. For more information, visit
