Barnes & Noble collecting books for youth program

Donations will be accepted through Dec. 31 at the Barnes & Noble store in Grand Junction for a program to collect new books for children.

The store has once again selected the Grand Valley Catholic Outreach Book-in-Hand program as the beneficiary of its new book drive. Customers can participate by purchasing new books for children and donating them to the program.

Catholic Outreach will distribute the books to the children of parents receiving services from the organization. Catholic Outreach operates a clothing bank, day center and soup kitchen as well as financial aid and housing programs. The book program is designed to encourage learning and literacy among children.

Barnes & Noble is located at 2451 Patterson Road. For more information, call 243-5113.
