Best Buy grant supports pregnancy prevention efforts

The Best Buy Children’s Foundation has awarded a $5,000 grant to a Mesa County program set up to reduce adolescent birth rates.

The Hilltop Get Real program will use the money to help participating youth develop life and leadership skills and plan for their futures.

Launched in 1994, the Get Real program targets youth at risk of becoming pregnant or fathering a child. Participants receive three to six hours of assistance a month through group sessions, family visits and care coordination. For more information, call 244-3842.
