Bookstore event features JFK’s secret service agents

The Barnes & Noble bookstore in Grand Junction will host a presentation and book signing by a retired Secret Service agent who has written a book about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

The event is set for 7 p.m. Dec. 17 at the store, located 2451 Patterson Road.

The event will feature Gerald Blaine, a former member of Kennedy’s Secret Service detail and author of “The Kennedy Detail: JFK’s Secret Service Agents Break Their Silence.” The event also will feature Jerry O’Rourke and Paul Rindel, two other members of Kennedy’s detail.

The book offers an inside look at Kennedy and his assassination, including the weeks and days that led up to that event on Nov. 22, 1963 in Dallas, as well as the aftermath. The book also offers a look inside the lives of the Secret Service agents who devoted themselves to protecting the president and his family.
