Business makes listing of top waste management firms

Rocky Mountain Sanitation in Grand Junction ranks among the largest waste management companies in North America in the latest listing compiled by an industry magazine.

With $3.1 million in revenue in 2011, Rocky Mountain Sanitation ranks 89th in the Top 100 Industry Players list in Waste Age Magazine.

“It feels great to be recognized among the nation’s very best in our industry. It’s a true testament of how hard our team works every day to serve the people of Mesa County,” said Lisa Mullen, owner of Rocky Mountain Sanitation. In making the list, the firm shares recognition with companies operating in such large cities as Atlanta and Houston.

Rocky Mountain Sanitation consistently ranks among the top minority owned businesses in Colorado as well as the fastest-growing privately held firms nationwide.

Lisa and Loren Mullen founded Rocky Mountain Sanitation in 1997 with one employee and two trucks. The operation since has grown to 21 employees and 16 trucks serving a total of more than 10,000 residential and commercial customers.
