Businesses join in fund drive for animal shelter

Grand Valley businesses have once again joined in an annual fall fund-raiser for the Roice-Hurst Humane Society.

Through October, customers at participating businesses can purchase a paper paw for a donation of $1 or more. All donations will go to the Roice-Hurst Humane Society to fund the efforts of the nonprofit organization to care for abandoned and relinquished pets.

In addition to the fall fund-raiser, a donation drive is set for Oct. 12 to 14 at the Wal-Mart at 2881 North Ave. in Grand Junction. Shoppers may donate pet food, collars, leashes and other pet supplies and place them in bins located at the front of the store.
