Businesses team up for benefit race

Habitat for Humanity of Mesa County has teamed up with the Grand Junction Rockies, Crossroads Fitness and Alpine Bank to stage a benefit event for runners and walkers.

Registration is under way for the Habitat Home Run 5K and 10K. The event is set for 8:30 a.m. June 30 on the Riverfront Trail behind the Hoffman Country Village, a Mesa County Habitat for Humanity subdivision. Tours of a Habitat home will be available after the race.

This event will raise funds and awareness about the Habitat for Humanity mission to build safe and affordable housing for people in need.

The race date is timed to coincide with the beginning of the first season of the Grand Junction Rockies and also focus on fitness through a partnership with Crossroads Fitness. Alpine Bank has joined in the effort as part of its ongoing commitment to community involvement.
