Chamber board endorses city council candidates

The Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has endorsed candidates in two of three city council races in the municipal election.

In the only contested race, the chamber board endorsed John Ballagh in his bid for election to an at-large seat on the council.

Jim Doody, Aaron Norris, Jacob Richards and Joshua Wussick also are running for a four-year term as at-large candidates.

The chamber board also endorsed Sam Susuras, who’s unopposed in his bid for a four-term in District B. Susuras already serves on the council.

Bennett Boeschenstein is similarly unopposed in his bid for a four-year term in District C, but didn’t receive a chamber endorsement.

The chamber board based its endorsements on the recommendations of a committee that interviewed the candidates and considered their business and general platforms, their positions on the chamber platform and issues of concern and their past voting records if available.
