CLARIFICATION

A story that appeared in the Aug. 18 to 31 issue of the Business Times and online at www.thebusinesstimes.com. failed to mention a financial services firm that operates offices in the Grand Valley ranks among the best companies to work for in Colorado.

Edward Jones ranked No. 1 for a second consecutive year among large companies with 250 or more employees in the annual listing.

The program is a collaborative effort of the Colorado State Council of the Society of Human Resource Management, ColoradoBiz magazine and Jobing.com, an online employment advertising service. To participate in the program, companies pay to undergo anonymous employee surveys conducted by Modern Think, a workplace consulting firm.

Edward Jones has ranked first or second in the listing for the past six years.

For 2011, Alpine Bank based in Glenwood Springs ranks second and Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado based in Grand Junction ranks sixth among large companies.

While Edward Jones is headquartered in St. Louis, the firm operates 275 branches across Colorado, including 13 offices in the Grand Valley.

In addition to the recognition for the Colorado ranking, Edward Jones ranked 11th overall and second among large companies in the Fortune magazine list of the 100 best companies to work for in America.
