Dance studio moves to new and larger quarters

Absolute Dance will soon reopen in a new and larger location in Grand Junction.

The dance studio has moved to a 15,000 square-foot facility at 417 Monument Drive near the intersection of Monument Drive and Broadway. The building formerly housed Ultimate Fitness.

An open house at the new facility is scheduled for August. Classes for the 2012-2013 school year are set to start Aug. 27.

Theresa Kahl, owner and artistic director of Absolute Dance, opened the studio in 2007 and offers training for students of all ages and experience levels in all genres of dance, including ballet, hip hop, jazz, Middle Eastern, pointe and tap.

In addition to regular classes, Kahl said the new facility will offer room for local and guest performances as well as a venue in which local students will have more opportunities to train with professionals without having to travel to larger cities.
