Delta County projects earn grants through renewable energy program

Two projects in Delta County are among the recipients of more than $600,000 in grants awarded through the Advancing Colorado’s Renewable Energy (ACRE) program.

Painted Sky RC&D received a $25,000 grant to assess the feasibility of developing a hydroelectric power facility for agricultural operations.

Delta Economic Development received a $20,000 grant to assess the feasibility of adding a pellet mill to Delta Timber Co. operations that use beetle-kill timber.

The ACRE program promotes business projects that add value to agricultural products as well as energy related agricultural projects. Projects must be tied to agricultural production or the use of agricultural land or water.
