Dermatology practice offers therapy tattoo removal

A Grand Junction dermatology practice offers free tattoo removal to patients who’ve received tattoos as part of breast cancer radiation treatments.

Mountain West Dermatology will offer the Declare Your Freedom Program during October as part of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“We can think of no better way to express our admiration for breast cancer survivors than to provide resources within the community to allow survivors to declare their freedom,” said Erin Larson, a certified laser specialist with Mountain West Dermatology.

Radiation therapists routinely mark breast cancer patients with tattoos to target treatment areas. The Declare Your Freedom Program is available to patients whose treatments have been successfully completed and whose oncologists agree with their decisions to have their therapy tattoos removed.

Mountain West Dermatology offers a range of medical and aesthetic treatments, including laser and light-based treatments. For more information, call 242-7273 or visit the website located at
