Entries sought for video contest promoting buy local campaign

Entries will be accepted through May 15 in a competition to create videos promoting a Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce buy local campaign.

The chamber is looking for amateur videos 60 to 90 seconds in length that support the Blue Band Wagon campaign and offer messages to shop locally.

Completed videos may be submitted to the e-mail address at info@gjchamber.org for uploading to the Blue Band Wagon Web site. Contestants then may encourage friends and family members to “like” the video on YouTube. The three videos that receive the most “likes” in online voting between May 1 and 15 will win prizes.

A $200 gift card donated by Mesa Mall will be awarded as a first place prize. A Sony camera donated by U.S. Tech will be awarded for second place. And a gift basket donated by Harrah’s Salon will be awarded for third place.

Entrants must be at least 13 years old to participate. Additional rules and information are available from the Web sites at www.gjchamber.com and www.facebook.com/bluebandwagon.
