Family Health West names extended care director

Cheryl Dean

Cheryl Dean has joined Family Health West in Fruita as director of adult extended care.

Dean holds a degree in nutritional sciences from Cornell University and completed her dietetic internship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the teaching hospital at Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass.

Dean subsequently worked nine years in long-term care as a dietitian and dietary manager. Over the past six years, she’s worked as a nursing home administrator.

“We are extremely fortunate to have Cheryl on our team. She brings a wealth of experience and a passion for long-term care that will certainly benefit our residents and their families, not to mention our staff,” said Lori Henderson, hospital administrator and chief nursing officer at Family Health West.

In addition to skilled-nursing and assisted-living facilities, Family Health West operates a hospital as well as arthritis, imaging, plastic surgery and rehabilitation centers. For more information, call 858-2104 or visit the website at
