Tanya Baber believes small businesses sometimes face a disadvantage in competing against franchise operations that receive corporate assistance with everything from accounting to insurance to marketing.

But Baber has set out to level the playing field in providing that same diversity of assistance to the small business owners for which she works. “We’re giving small businesses the big corporation access to the same things that they need.”

Baber owns ATI Solutions, a Grand Junction-based business she’s expanded to offer not only accounting and tax services, but also services related to insurance, marketing and website development.

“It’s a very unique way of approaching it. It’s helping them find the services for which they need,” she said.

Baber brings to the venture more than 20 years of experience in accounting. She’s certified as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and helps clients set up and operate bookkeeping systems using the computer software.

Baber also holds designation as an enrolled agent, meaning she can represent her clients in matters with the Internal Revenue Service. And she’s a Certified Tax Resolution Specialist, meaning she has the training and knowledge to resolve tax disputes, including those involving levies and liens.

In expanding ATI Solutions to offer other services, Baber works with her employees as well as contractors, insurance agents and lawyers to meet the unique needs of her clients. Baber said she looks for experts who “love to do what they do.”

For startups, Baber said her firm can help set up a business and the accounting and sales systems it needs, review leases, create websites and produce promotional videos.

While the exact services vary, the goal remains constant, Baber said, and that’s to help her clients succeed in an increasingly competitive environment.

ATI Solutions operates offices at 518 28 Road, B 102, in Grand Junction. For more information, call 255-9300.
