Food bank acquires larger space in Palisade warehouse

Food Bank of the Rockies has purchased a Palisade warehouse, substantially expanding the space available for its regional operation.

The warehouse, located at 119 N. Bower Ave., offers 32,100 square feet of space and convenient access to Interstate Highway 70. The building had been vacant for about a year.

The warehouse is more than double the size of the existing 12,500 square foot facility Food Bank of the Rockies operates at 734 Scarlet Drive in Grand Junction. That building, located on 2 acres, is now listed for sale.

Katie Worrall, a broker associate with Re/Max Commercial in Grand Junction, represented Food Bank of the Rockies in the transaction. Dale Beede, broker and partner at Coldwell Banker Commercial Prime Properties in Grand Junction, represented Palvest, the seller.

Food Bank of the Rockies is one of the largest private hunger relief organizations in Colorado. On the Western Slope, Food Bank of the Rockies distributes food and other items to more than 100 relief programs in the region.
