Free seminars to offer information about federal grazing

Two free seminars offering information about federal lands and grazing permits are planned for Western Colorado.

Seminars are scheduled for April 24 at 11 a.m. at the Bill Heddles Recreation Center at 531 Palmer St. in Delta and 5:30 p.m. at the Western Slope Cattlemen’s Livestock Auction at 1369 12 1/2 Road in Loma. For reservations or additional information, call the Colorado Cattlemen’s Association at (303)  431-6422.

The Delta County Livestock Association and Mesa County Cattlemen’s Association joined with the Colorado Cattlemen’s Association and Colorado Public Lands Council to present the seminars.

The seminars will offer information about the rights grazing permitees hold and federal allotments as well as the outlook for federal grazing under the Trump administration. Information about available services, including an assistance program for grazing permit holders in Colorado, also will be provided.
