Fruita bookstore hosts pet food drive to help families keep their pets

A Fruita bookstore will host a pet food drive through Oct. 1.

Turn the Page will collect pet food for the Western Slope Food Bank of the Rockies, which in turn will distribute the pet food to families and individuals with pets. The goal of the drive is to help people keep their pets during difficult economic times. Customers who bring in a bag of dog or cat food during the drive will receive 15 percent off the purchase of a used book.

Located at 119 E. Aspen Ave., Turn the Page sells used books at up to 50 percent off their original retail prices. The store also offers a trade program and carries books by local authors. For more information, call 261-5778.
