Grand Junction art gallery schedules benefit event for three local charities

The Raw Canvas Working Artist Gallery, a member-driven cooperative art gallery in Grand Junction, plans a fund-raising event to benefit three local charities.

The event is scheduled for 6 p.m. Dec. 3 at the gallery,  located at 755 Rood Ave., and will include live acoustic music and a silent auction of artwork by owner Justin Nordine and 10 other artists. Proceeds will be distributed among three charities: Brett’s Battle, Donations for Delaney and the Latimer House.

“Giving back where we can and providing information to the community about how they can be involved is so important,” Nordine said. “We are not just artists trying to make it, but we are artists who want to give back when we can and this gallery allows this in a unique way.”

The Raw Canvas Working Artist Gallery offers a venue for member artists to display and sell their work with no commission fees. For more information, call 985-9649.
