Grand Junction chamber honors expanding businesses

Three Grand Junction businesses have been honored for expanding operations that have added a total of eight jobs and resulted in a collective capital investment of more than $3.5 million.

The Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce presented the businesses with expansion awards during its membership meeting for the third quarter.

LaQuinta Inn & Suites was honored for a $2.5 million renovation project at the hotel at 2761 Crossroads Blvd. The project included interior renovations with new furnishings as well as exterior remodeling.

Sunshine Rides was honored for a $1 million capital investment and the creation of seven new jobs. The company has provided transportation services in the Grand Valley since 1991 and has substantially expanded services to Medicaid clients.

Epic Escape Game was honored for a $13,000 capital investment in a new escape room in its building at 605 Grand Ave. The business also created one job. Epic Escape Game offers live escape games in which participants have a set time to uncover clues, solve puzzles, crack codes and unlock locks that resolve the particular challenge involved. Different escape rooms pose different levels of difficulty.
