Grand Junction job fair set for Oct. 1

A Grand Junction event will bring together employers looking for workers with people looking for jobs.

The Mesa County Workforce Center has scheduled a job fair for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Lincoln Park Barn, located near 12th Street and Gunnison Avenue. The first hour of the fair will be open only to veterans.

The job fair will feature a total of 30 employers from a variety of industry sectors. All of the employers will be hiring to fill positions, said Suzie Miller, manager of business services at the center.

Those looking for jobs should come to the fair dressed for interviews and bring resumes, Miller said. The center will offer assistance as well as high-quality paper on which to print resumes.

The job fair will be the second staged by the center this year. An event in February attracted more than 1,800 people. Miller said employers requested a second fair for fall hiring.
