Grand Valley companies rank among fastest-growing U.S. firms
Two Grand Valley companies continue to rank among the fastest-growing firms in the United States, according to the latest results of an annual listing compiled for a national magazine.
Fast Fusion in Palisade and JG Management Systems (JGMS) in Grand Junction are included in the 2013 Inc. magazine list of the 5,000 fastest-growing privately held companies in the country. Fast Fusion ranks 564th, while JGMS ranks 3436th.
Inc. magazine compiles a list of the 500 and 5,000 fastest-growing companies based on revenue growth over the past three years.
Fast Fusion, a company that manufactures plastic pipe fusion equipment, reported $12.8 million in annual revenue in 2012, a nearly 800 percent increase over the $1.4 million in annual revenue reported in 2009.
Fast-Fusion ranks 11th among the top 100 manufacturing companies in the 2013 Inc. 5000 list and 16th among the top 100 Colorado companies on the list.

Dick McKinley founded Fast Fusion in 2003 to manufacture automated mobile equipment that fuses together lengths of polyethylene pipe for the utility, construction and agriculture industries. While thermal pipe fusion isn’t new, Fast Fusion uses patented technology that incorporates a cooling system to fuse pipe more quickly than competing equipment, in turn reducing costs.
JGMS, a firm that offers a wide range of management and consulting services, reported $11.5 million in annual revenue in 2012, a 90 percent increase over the $6 million in annual revenue reported in 2009.
While JGMS is headquartered in Grand Junction, the firm operates offices across the country. The company employs a total staff of 93, adding 34 positions over the past three years.
JGMS ranks 93rd among the top 100 Colorado companies on the 2013 Inc. 5000 list. JGMS has made the Inc. listing for six consecutive years since ranking 343rd in its inaugural appearance in 2007.
Jerome Gonzales launched JGMS in 2001, drawing on his experience in the Energy Department to secure contracts with government agencies. Today, the firm works for a variety of government and private-sector clients across the country with services that include construction management, engineering design, environmental analysis and facility assessments.
