The Mesa County Domestic Violence Task Force invited the 16 to pose for black and white photographs taken by Dorsey Coe. The photographs, along with quotes reflecting their personal insights on domestic violence, appear in a display through Oct. 29 at the Mesa Mall in Grand Junction.

The display is part of the “Real Men Speak Out Against Domestic Violence” campaign.

The portraits also will be available to the local media as part of an ongoing public service awareness advertising campaign. The ads will feature the portraits and quotes as well as the 24-hour crisis telephone line for the Hilltop Latimer House, which provides emergency shelter and services to those affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.

The task force, a collaboration of professional agencies that address domestic violence in Mesa County, seeks to reduce domestic violence through community and professional education, offender accountability and victim services.
