Grant program offers help to artists

Artspace & Open Studios in Grand Junction has launched a grant program to advance professional development and artistic excellence in Mesa County.

“The grant fulfills our mission to incubate the continual growth of the arts and individual artists and enhance the cultural and economic vitality of our community,” said Linda Brotman-Evans, executive director of Artspace & Open Studios.

Application forms for the program, called Money for Artistic Development, are available online at the Web site located at Applications are due Oct. 3.

To assist artists applying for grants, Brotman-Evans has scheduled a free workshop on proposal writing tips for 9:45 a.m. Sept. 10 at Alpine Bank, 225 N. Fifth St. in Grand Junction. For more information or reservations, call 640-8177.
