Health club benefit party good time for a good cause

Crossroads Health & Fitness in Grand Junction has scheduled a unique event to raise money for the American Heart Association.

A Zumba party is set for noon to 2 p.m. May 7 at the Crossroads location at 2768 Compass Drive. Registration will start at 11:30 a.m.

Admission is $5, with all proceeds going to the American Heart Association “Go Red” movement for women. Each participant will receive a party hearty bracelet. Refreshments will be served and prizes award throughout the event.

Certified instructors will lead Zumba, a Latin-based dance exercise. Spectrum Sound will provide the sound system for the event. No Zumba or dance experience is required of participants. Families are encouraged to participate together.

“Zumba exercise is such a fun way to get fit. When you combine exercise with a charity, everyone wins,” said Katie Leiting, a certified Zumba instructor at Crossroads Fitness.
