Health club offers weight-loss challenge

Registration is under way for a 90-day weight loss challenge at Crossroads Fitness in Grand Junction.

Registration will remain open through Feb. 15 for the challenge, which will offer education, support and other resources to people who want to achieve their new year’s resolution to lose weight.

Crossroads will help participants set specific and realistic weight loss goals, then take measurements, photos and weigh-ins to set starting points and track progress. Participants will receive cards with activities related to cardiovascular, strength and flexibility training as well as nutrition. Special classes, workshops and seminars also are planned. Prizes will be awarded in both men’s and women’s categories to the participants who lose the most weight.

While participants must put in the work to lose weight, Crossroads Fitness will help, said Paula Reece, co-owner. “We have found that offering a little help and making the proper tools available not only makes it easier, but allows for more success stories.”

Crossroads Fitness operates locations at 225 N. Fifth St. and 2768 Compass Drive. For more information, call 242-8746 or log on to
