High Lonesome Ranch admitted to dude ranch association
The High Lonesome Ranch, a high-end guest ranch located near DeBeque, is among four operations admitted to the Dude Ranchers’ Association.
Membership into the DRA involves a two-year inspection and approval process that assures members uphold quality and service standards.
“Dude ranches are rooted in American tradition and principles — think horses, hats, hospitality, heritage, honesty and heart,” said Colleen Hodson, executive director of the DRA. “Membership in the Dude Ranchers’ Association is a prestigious designation, and we’re pleased to welcome these four ranches to our family.”
The DRA was founded in 1926 to preserve and promote the dude ranch industry. With the addition of the four new members, the list of DRA-accredited ranches has grown to more than 100.
The High Lonesome Ranch caters to everything from corporate retreats to family reunions to sporting pursuits to weddings. Guests can customize their stays to fit their needs and desires. The operation has taken on several restoration and conservation projects to preserve the landscape. For more information, call 283-9420 or visit the Web site located at www.thehighlonesomeranch.com.
The other three ranches admitted to the DRA are the Focus Ranch in Colorado, Diamond D Ranch in Idaho and Padlock Ranch in Wyoming.
