Hospice volunteer services director earns administrative certification

Diane Dickey, director of volunteer services at Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, has earned certification in volunteer administration.

Dickey joins a group of more than 900 people who’ve attained the designation, including two other Hospice employees.

The designation process includes self-evaluation and preparation of a performance-based portfolio. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge in such areas as leadership, planning and organizational and human resource management; pledge to follow a professional code of ethics; and offer a philosophy of volunteer administration.

Based in Grand Junction, Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado offers services in Delta, Ouray, Mesa and Montrose counties. In 2009, more than 1,000 volunteers donated a total of 75,000 hours of service to Hospice. For more information, visit www.hospicewco.org.
