Hospital launches bariatric program

Community Hospital has joined with four doctors in a joint venture offering a new program to treat obesity.

Andrew Morse, Teyen Shiao, James Hanosh Jr. and Eric Hanly — all board-certified general surgeons — will offer a range of services through the bariatric program at the Grand Junction hospital. Surgical weight-loss solutions will include LapBand, sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass surgery.

The east wing of Community Hospital will be remodeled in two phases to offer four private rooms designed primarily for bariatric patients. Each room will be equipped with furniture, beds and tables to accommodate bariatric patients.

Located at 2021 N. 12th St, Community Hospital is licensed to operate a 78-bed facility. For more information, visit
