Lions Club seeks grant applications

Applications will be accepted through 5 p.m. Oct. 31 for grants from the Grand Junction Lions Club.

Each year the club donates a total of about $100,000 to nonprofit organizations, proceeds from an annual carnival and raffle conducted in February. Over the past 80 years, the club has given away a total of more than $4 million for more than 180 local projects. The club typically receives 75 to 100 applications requesting funding ranging from a few thousand dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Applications are available at or may be picked up at Brown’s Shoe Fit, 425 Main St. Completed applications must be turned in at Brown’s Show Fit.
