Marketing and communications director joins downtown group

Aaron Hoffman has joined the Grand Junction Downtown Partnership as marketing and communications director.

Hoffman succeeds Kathy Dirks, who retired at the end of last year. He’ll be responsible for marketing and promoting the downtown business improvement district and downtown events. He’ll also serve as the primary point of contact for information about downtown Grand Junction.

“We are very excited to have Aaron join our team at the partnership,” said Harry Weiss, executive director of the Downtown Development Authority. “He brings a wide range of skills and experience that support our broad mission to foster the economic vitality of the commercial core of downtown.”

Hoffman said he’s excited about his new duties. “Downtown Grand Junction is truly unique, and I’m thrilled to be working with the Downtown Partnership to bring heightened exposure to one of Grand Junction’s treasures.”

Prior to joining the Downtown Partnership, Hoffman handled marketing and communications as well as event planning and social media for the Rocky Mountain Public Broadcasting Service. Prior to that, he owned Scientific Outreach Media, a video production company focused on communicating the work of scientists to the public.

Hoffman holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Hope College and master’s and doctoral degrees in zoology from Colorado State University.
