Meeting to offer look at how new state laws affect business

An upcoming meeting will offer a look at how new state laws affect small businesses as well as the business climate in Grand Junction.

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) and Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce has scheduled the meeting for 8:30 a.m. May 30 in the first floor meeting room of Grand Junction City Hall, 250 N.  Fifth St. The event is free and open to the public.

The meeting will feature Tony Gagliardi, state director of the NFIB in Colorado, and Diane Schwenke, president and chief executive officer of the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce.

Three state lawmakers also are scheduled to participate: State Sen. Steve King, R-Grand Junction; and State Reps., Ray Scott, R-Grand Junction; and Jared Wright, R-Fruita.
