Mortgage firm opens office at real estate business

Major Mortgage USA has opened a branch office at Heiden Homes Realty and Associates in downtown Grand Junction.

Mortgage bankers Kyle Barnard and Dave Shepherd, along with loan coordinator Casey Brown, will spend time at the new location at 735 Rood Ave. as well as at the main Major Mortgage office at 2474 Patterson Road.

Barnard said he expects the arrangement to benefit Major Mortgage by working out of an established business location and with Toni Heiden, a managing real estate broker with more than 30 years of experience in the Mesa County market. But the arrangement also should benefit Heiden Homes, Barnard said.

“We can help agents here push more real estate. We’re an industry that’s taken a lot of hits on the real estate and the lending side. It’s a strengthening of a team effort.”

“The family and the business was a good fit,” added Barnard, who is related through marriage to Heiden.

Heiden said the arrangement offers an in-house lender as well as other advantages. “One of our strengths is to business partner with the best real estate entities. Major Mortgage adds one more advantage to our customers,” she said.

Major Mortgage has operated under its current ownership for five years and offers local closing, underwriting and funding services. The company also has access to out-of-town and out-of-state financing and manages financing issued through the Federal Home Mortgage Corp., Federal National Mortgage Association, Housing and Urban Development and Veterans Affairs.

Heiden Homes Realty has been in business since 2003 and offers Multiple Listing Service coverage for Mesa County as well as Delta, Garfield and Montrose counties and the Four Corners region of Western Colorado.
