New marketing director joins staff at Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra

Kristen Woods-Madril has joined the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra as marketing director. Woods-Madril will focus on subscription and individual ticket sales, reaching out to new and younger audiences and building a strong volunteer base.

Before joining the symphony, Woods-Madril recruited and managed volunteers for the American Cancer Society. She also worked as a media consultant in the Grand Valley for 10 years. She holds a degree in public relations from Mesa State College.

“Her ability to connect with people and her comprehensive understanding of volunteer partnerships will greatly benefit the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra, our supporters and patrons,” said Michael Schwerin, executive director of the orchestra.

“To join the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra at such a pivotal time in their development is very exciting,” Woods-Madril said. The orchestra is working with the City of Grand Junction and Downtown Development Authority to renovate and occupy the Avalon Theater on Main Street.
