Karen Ady has joined Mesa Midwives, a hospital-based midwifery practice in Western Colorado.

Ady, a board-certified nurse midwife, will help women give birth at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Grand Junction.

“Having Karen on our team will really increase our ability to care for women who desire midwifery care,” said Janet Grant, founder and chief midwife of Mesa Midwives.

Before joining Mesa Midwives, Ady provided women’s health care services at the Mesa County Health Department family planning clinic. She also provided midwifery, obstetrics and gynecological services on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.

Ady holds a master’s degree from the Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Ky., and completed a midwifery preceptorship at Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg, Idaho.
