Online program protects pesticide-sensitive areas

An online program designed to protect pesticide-sensitive crops and habitats is now available in Colorado.

Managers of organic crops, beehives and other sensitive areas can register on the website located at www.driftwatch.org. Pesticide applicators then can check online for the location of those areas and take precautions before spraying if necessary. The website uses a Google map interface to show the location of registered areas. Participation is voluntary.
