Presentation to offer information about becoming a certified records manager

Registration is under way for a presentation on becoming a certified records manager.

The Western Colorado Chapter of ARMA International has scheduled the presentation for Oct. 8 in the board room at Enstrom Candies, 701 Colorado Ave. in Grand Junction. Admission is $15 for ARMA members and students, $20 for others, and includes lunch.

The event will include a two-part presentaion on bcoming a certified records manager led by Kathleen Fortenberry, president and principal consultant of Fortenberry & Associates in Aurora. Fortenberry offers nearly 30 years of experience in records and information management for federal and local government and private industry with expertise in the development, implementation and management of records programs from single entities to multi-national organizations. She’s been a certified records manager since 1992 and grades a part of the CRM exam.

The event also will include a session on the basics of developing a records retention policy.
