Radio station joins in effort to help kids participate in activities

The KEKB radio station and other Grand Junction businesses  and organizations have joined in an effort to provide children scholarships to participate in extracurricular activities.

KEKB raised $2,000 through its Last Run of Your Life benefit 5-kilometer race for the Grant a Wish program. The Grand Junction Harley Davidson hosted a motorcycle run that raised more than $1,000. Absolute Dance, Defy Gravity and Playback Sports also participated, as did the Grand Junction Soccer Club and Mesa County Junior Football League.

KEKB and the Grand Junction Parks and Recreation Department offered scholarships to more than 50 children to participate in dance, football, karate, soccer, photography and other programs. Seventeen students at the Riverside Education Center received scholarships. The children also received soccer balls, tennis rackets and other sports equipment.
