Realtors install officers and present awards

Kevin Borman

Kevin Borman has been installed as chairman of the Grand Junction Area Realtor Association (GJARA).

Borman, managing broker of Keller Williams Colorado West Realty, has worked as a Realtor in the Grand Junction area for 30 years. He’s been a member of GJARA for 14 years.

“Kevin will be the right leader at the right time for our association,” said Joe Tripoli, a Realtor with Re/Max 4000 and outgoing chairman of the group. “He knows our industry and just about everyone who works in it in our area. His years of participation at the state level will be an additional benefit to the association as he represents the voice of local Realtors and our specific needs.”

Mike Burkhard

Pat Teck, chief executive officer of GJARA, said, “I am looking forward to working with Kevin and his leadership team this year. He knows our industry and our community so well and will provide great direction for our association.”

Michael Burkhard, a Realtor with Re/Max 4000, will serve a one-year term as chairman-elect. Burkhard also was selected as the GJARA Realtor of the Year. He’s a past vice president of the Colorado Real Estate Network, past multiple listing service chairman of GJARA and past president of the Business Buddies networking group. In 2010, he received the Certified Residential Specialist of the Year award from the Colorado Chapter of the Council of Residential Specialists.

Brian Donaldson

Ann Hayes, a Realtor with Keller Williams, will serve as GJARA treasurer. Four other Realtors were elected to serve on the GJARA board: Olan Clark of Coldwell Banker Home Owners Realty, Judy Hoffschneider and Joanna Little of Re/Max 4000 and Christi Reece of Bray Real Estate. Lisa Boetticher of Land Title will serve as affiliate representative to the board.

Lynn Gillespie of Re/Max Two Rivers, Andrea Haitz of Keller Williams and Paul Zurek of Bray Real Estate will continue to serve as directors on the GJARA board. Amanda Hill of Bray Real Estate will serve as chairwoman of the MLS committee.

Kelly Romatzke

Hayes, Erika Doyle of Doyle & Associates Real Estate Services and Marjorie Genova of Bray Real Restate will represent GJARA with the Colorado Association of Realtors.

In addition to presenting the Realtor of the Year award to Burkhard, GJARA also presented the Rookie of the Year award to Brian Donaldson of Bray Real Estate and the Affiliate of the Year award to Kelly Romatzke of Major Mortgage.
