Retirement communities plan free events over holiday weekend

Two retirement communities in Grand Junction have scheduled free events for seniors over the Labor Day weekend.

Mesa View, located at 601 Horizon Place, and the Atrium of the Grand Valley, located at 3260 N. 12th St., have planned events from Sept. 2 to 5.

Events at Mesa View will include an open house, live music and dancing, campfire songs and s’mores and a barbecue picnic and country western party. Call 241-0772 for more information.

Events at the Atrium will include a health fair, building and eating a 50-foot-long banana split, a Sunday brunch with live music and a barbecue picnic with live music. Call 256-0006 for more information.
