Robotics competition coming to Grand Valley

The Hi-Fives high school robotics team and Central High School will bring a Lego robotics competition to the Grand Valley.

The First Lego League Qualifier is set for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 5 at Central High School and will pit teams from the Grand Valley and Western Slope to present their projects to judges as well as vie on a playing field.

Teams of up to 10 students in fourth through eighth grades led by an adult coach use math and science to design, build and program Lego Mindstorm robots. Teams also most develop solutions to problems they’ve identified.

For more information about the competition, visit wwww.firstlegoleague.org/challenge. For more information about the Hi-Fives, a tenant of the Business Incubator Center in Grand Junction, call 234-6067.
