Penny Mitchell has been promoted to regional director of the Rocky Mountain Public Broadcasting Service as well as general manager of the KRMJ television station in Grand Junction.

Mitchell said she hopes to expand the presence of public television in Western Colorado as she oversees regional outreach efforts as well as KRMJ productions.

Mitchell previously worked nearly four years as development director at KRMJ. Before that, she worked as investor relations director with the Grand Junction Economic Partnership.

Mitchell draws on more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit management, including stints with the American Public Health Association, Boston Society of Architects and Theta Delta Chi fraternal organization.

Mitchell’s promotion was part of several organizational changes announced by Rocky Mountain PBS. Donna Sanford was named chief content officer, while Tom Craig was named chief information technology officer.

Rocky Mountain PBS serves more than 1.5 million people throughout Colorado with five television stations. For more information,
