A benefit event offering for sale gently used women’s shoes, purses and accessories is planned for the Springhill Suites by Marriott at 236 Main St. in downtown Grand Junction.

An opening reception with refreshments is set for 4 to 8 p.m May 10. The event will continue from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 11. The event also will include a silent auction for designer and vintage items. An admission fee of $1 will be charged.

Sandra Legg, a breast cancer survivor, has organized the event as a fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society. “This is an opportunity for women to shop for some great deals while supporting a cause that affects millions of people in the U.S. each year,” Legg said.

Donations of gently used women’s items for the event can be dropped off at any Alpine Bank location in Mesa County.
