Solar business installs system at its own facilities

A Grand Junction solar power sales and installation company has completed the installation of a new solar system at its office and warehouse complex.

Simplicity Solar completed the 15.58 kilowatt photovoltaic solar system at its facility at 747 W. White Ave. The system is expected to generate 23,555 kilowatts of electricity a year.

Alan Deslongchamp, Fred Pittinger and Andre van Schaften have operated Simplicity Solar since 2005.

The three said the new system not only generates electricity for the operation, but also serves as an example of what the company can do for its customers.

“Adding solar power to our operation fits perfectly with our company mission to provide high-quality solar power installations to all of our customers,” van Schaften said.

The cost of the system was offset by a federal grant and rebates from Xcel Energy. The firm also will receive federal tax incentives as well as renewable energy credit payments from Xcel.

Simplicity Solar sells and installs solar panels and solar systems to residential and commercial customers throughout Western Colorado. For more information, call 314-2679 or log on to
