State’s largest car wash tunnel coming to Grand Junction
What’s billed as the largest car wash tunnel in Colorado is under construction in Grand Junction.
Splish Splash Car Wash is expected to open in December near the intersection of 24 3/4 Road and U.S. Highway 6 & 60.
The facility is designed to eliminate the wait in washing cars by using an automated conveyor tunnel. Customers will remain seated in their cars during the process. To offer a more environmentally friendly operation, about 90 percent of the water used in the wash will be reclaimed and reused. A large vacuum plaza with self-serve machines also will be available.
Grand Junction subcontractors are constructing the Splish Splash Car Wash and 10 workers will be hired to staff the facility when it opens.
Interviews are set for Sept. 21 and 21 in Grand Junction for a general manager, a position that will offer an annual salary of $40,000 with a 15 percent bonus. Applicants for the job should
e-mail their resumes to SplishSplashCarWash@gmail.com.
“We are looking for highly qualified candidates,” said Brett Meinberg, president of Car Wash Express, the Denver-based parent company of Splish Splash Car Wash. Car Wash Express operates five locations in the Denver metro area.
“A successful candidate must be self-motivated, professional, have a high work ethic, be able to take ownership in the business to help spur on employees and be willing to grow with the company,” Meinberg said.
