Tickets now available for tasteful benefit

Advance tickets are now available for an annual event that not only showcases the local food service industry, but also raises money for United Way of Mesa County.

The Home Loan Taste of the Valley is set for 4 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 11 at Two Rivers Convention Center, 159 Main St. in downtown Grand Junction.

Advance tickets to the food festival sell for $13 for adults, $10 for students and seniors and $6 for children. Advance tickets are available at City Market and Enstrom Candies locations, Mesa Mall guest services, Home Loan State Bank and United Way of Mesa County. Blocks of 25 or more tickets also are available from the United Way offices for $10 per ticket.

Tickets also will be sold at the door during the event for $15 for adults, $12 for students and seniors and $7 for children.

More than 20 exhibitors are scheduled to serve food and beverages samples at the Taste of the Grand Valley, including, Alida’s Fruits, Colorado Legacy Coffee, Cowboy & the Rose, Dunn-Right Gourmet Beef Jerky, Enstrom Candies, Fins Grill, Four Winds Coffee & Tea,  Gateway Canyons, Main Street Bagels, Mesa County Cattlewomen, Natural Groceries by Vitamin Cottage, Nick ’n’ Willy’s Pizza, Olive Garden, Pattie’s Tiny Cakes, Two Rivers Convention Center, Village Inn and Zoup.

United Way will sell half-price gift cards donated by local restaurants.

The event also will include cooking and product demonstrations; door prizes awarded each hour; and a contest in which participants will vote for their favorite exhibitors in four categories — best beverage, best dessert, best taste and best theme.

Proceeds from the Taste of the Grand Valley will add to the fund-raising campaign for United Way of Mesa County. All money raised in the campaign stays in Mesa County.
