Kevin McChesney, an account executive at the KREX and KFQX television station in Grand Junction, was selected as the Account Executive of the Year for 2010 for Hoak Media.

McChesney was selected from among a group of account executives honored at their respective stations. Hoak Media operates 13 stations across the country.

“Kevin is our team leader. He leads our team each day with his winning attitude and his work ethic,” said Randy Stone, who, as general manager of KREX and KFQX, nominated McChesney for the award. “He’s the first to show up each day and puts in time way beyond (close of business) and on weekends so he can max his face time in selling,” Stone added. “Kevin leads by actively mentoring our sellers, constantly sharing his experience in what works and what not to do with business owners.”

Stone credited McChesney for developing a significant number of new local direct accounts in 2010. While nearly half his account list is local direct, he relinquished to the general manager a number of agency accounts to focus on local direct business.
